Kathryn Marquet
Kathryn Marquet is an award-winning, multi-faceted artist and facilitator with a passion for saving the planet. Kathryn is an experienced dramaturg, having facilitated multiple playwriting programs for Playlab, including Incubator and Transmission, and regularly teaches playwriting across Australian universities. Kathryn’s dramaturgical credits include SHE (Indelibility) and Rising (Playlab Theatre). As a playwright, Kathryn’s published/produced plays include Dear Australia (Playwriting Australia), The Dead Devils of Cockle Creek (Playlab Theatre/La Boite), The Owl and the Pussycat (Little Match), The Secret Garden (Queensland Theatre Young Artists/Dead Puppet Society), Furious Creatures (QPDA/Playwriting Australia), and Pale Blue Dot (La Boite). As an actor, Kathryn has worked for Queensland Theatre, La Boite Theatre Company, Playlab Theatre, Bell Shakespeare and Elbow Room, to name a few. Kathryn was Emerging Artist at QT in 2009, Playwright in Residence at La Boite in 2013, and Playwright in Residence at Playlab in 2017. Kathryn has a Bachelor of Theatre Arts from USQ, a post-graduate diploma in Writing, Editing and Publishing from UQ, a masters in Philosophy (creative writing) from UQ, and is currently completing her PhD at UQ in Creative Writing.
